about

Designer Leena Kouhia, architect Sofie Hägerström and musician Tapani Rinne built a Fire Garden for meeting people and chilling out.
The installation – consisting of a bonfire and tables of candles – invites visitors to calm down and share a moment with other visitors. Sitting at the bonfire is a social event in which the interaction between people intensifies in an atmospheric and safe environment. Talking about things builds trust and increases understanding between both parties. The crackle of the fire and the warmth emanating from them are both calming and relaxing. Staring into the fire influences one’s psyche and it also physically lowers the blood pressure. The fascination is in part explained by its stress-lowering impact.
