Foghornia is the sequel to Tapani Rinne's previous album Radioton, well received last year by critics and fans alike. It will be the second album to be released on the Signature Dark label, first digitally and later on vinyl.

The musical foundation of the new album remains consistent with Rinne’s earlier outings, with bass clarinet and electronic soundscapes to the fore. This time, Tapani Rinne dives even deeper into waves of melancholy to reach hitherto unplumbed depths of dark ambience.

Rinne’s music reflects the macro and the micro. The current state of the world makes an inevitable impact, but some compositions are based on personal experiences and early memories. The track Kirjurinluoto is the soundtrack to Tapani’s childhood hometown Pori, known both for its industrial nature and as the home of the internationally acknowledged Pori Jazz Festival. Tapani says, "The song is dedicated most of all to the festival and its two founders Tapani Kontula and Jyrki Kangas, both deceased during recent years. Without their influence, I would had never made this particular album." In a similarly personal vein, the track Confirmation was originally composed for the confirmation ceremony of Tapani’s nephew. Impactive art often combines the personal and the public domains: "Music is not a separate island of its own but a part of everyday life ", Rinne sagely observes.

developed an experimental and innovative style of his own, using clarinet and saxophone. He is
internationally best known as the leader of the pioneering Finnish music group RinneRadio.
