about

Three and a half years ago, at the very beginning of this project, we used to call our music ´soundscape music´if somebody happened to ask what we were doing. After a while, though, our structured improvisations began to feel and sound more like ´mindscape music´. But then again, there is an ongoing dialogue and a dialectic relationship between a soundscape and a mindscape. We have lots of effect pedals plugged into all our instruments – why? Because they open up different possibilities for mindscapes; they exist in the human memory. And it is through our memory that we can ask the ultimate, always-remaining question: who or what am I? Technology – in a broad sense – is an inherent part of our memory, identity and mindscape. The aesthetics of our soundscape – our mindscape – is our own choice, but it's also an (aest-)ethic choice. Does beauty exist before ethics?
Sometimes technology is trangely transparent – the cover picture of this record is a graphic representation of one of the sound tracks.
